Fundraiser 2016 Highlights (Part 2)
With our prayers reaching out to the affected families, the least we could do for the orphaned children and victims’ families while living in here is to help provide immediate relief efforts and financial assistance particularly during these critical hours of need.
Special Initiative for Post-Secondary Education
In the year 2013, HOPE decided to select ten students annually for enrollment in a “Diploma of Associate Engineers”. The goal is to equip them with technical skills and knowledge that could help become self-sustained. Majority of the students were from rural and remote areas such as Baluchistan. Due to some inevitable family issues, two students could not continue with their studies beyond first year. Another student immigrated to Australia. The remaining seven students appeared in the final year exam and all passed with flying colors. A marvelous success was achieved by the young, energetic Ali Khan who got first class first position in two consecutive years (first year and then second year) in the examinations held under Punjab Board of Technical Education Lahore (PBTE). As an appreciation, Ali also received a brand new motor bike from his school i.e. Pak Polytechnic Institute, Lahore. He will now take admission in BSCS (Bachelor in Computer Science) in Quaid-e-Azam University, Islamabad on a scholarship fully sponsored by H.O.P.E. All students and their families sincerely thank all the sponsors and donors of H.O.P.E. Foundation Canada fir their consistent and generous support throughout their education. H.O.P.E. Foundation Canada would like to sincerely thank and express deepest gratitude to over 800 attendees of our 4th annual fundraising dinner held on May 29th, 2016. Our sincere salutations to our keynote speakers, our very own generous donors, our valued event sponsors and, of course, the core team of selfless and dedicated volunteers who worked day and night to transform the dream of holding a successful 4th Annual fundraising dinner into a living reality.
Each year, H.O.P.E.’s fundraiser has been a witness to the exemplary participation and generous contributions from all of you. Your passionate support and encouraging feedback have consistently proved that, together, we can impact the lives of suffering children in many ways. As a result of your generosity and devotion, this fundraising event helped us raise approximately $127,500.00 CAD including commitments for yearly sponsorship of 232 deserving and orphaned children. Each of these are small steps toward our larger goal of helping orphans and promoting education. As we look to the future, it is only possible to move forward if we continue raising our hands in solidarity to the little ones who need to be embraced by our support.
In line with our values of transparency and responsibility, we will ensure that your contributions are utilized in the most efficient manner.
The pictures and video clips featuring highlights of this memorable event shall be shared online at H.O.P.E.’s official website in the next few days. Please do share your precious feedback or any queries that you may have at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank you, once again, for “Raising Hands and Embracing Hope!”
H.O.P.E. Receives Acknowledgment from Red Cross
In May 2016, Fort McMurray, Alta. was devastated by raging wildfires that wiped out entire neighborhoods and left up to hundreds of thousands of people displaced. The devastating impact of the catastrophe was far beyond anything witnessed before; the effects will be felt for years to come. The tragic loss of homes and livelihoods was simply beyond apprehension as the Alberta government has declared a state of emergency.
H.O.P.E. Foundation Canada stood with the fellow Canadians in these difficult times of disaster and crises with a sincere goal of providing generous and prompt support. Federal government had announced to match donations made to Canadian Red Cross donations for Fort McMurray disaster relief. Accordingly, all funds raised were donated to the Canadian Red Cross so that every dollar H.O.P.E. Foundation received today became eligible for matching, and thus doubles in dollar amount. For this exemplary support that is above and beyond any race, color, caste or creed, an official letter of appreciation was awarded to H.O.P.E. from the Canadian Red Cross.
